Assistant Logistics Systems & Efficiency Manager

Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Logistics Systems and Efficiency Manager to create efficiency in the end to end logistics network by defining appropriate operating models, and supporting the design and implementation of solutions in systems, technology and processes.

This role will be based at our Logistics Hub in Welham Green, but most of the time will be spent working in partnership with our 3PLs on sites across the country so having the flexibility to travel is essential.

Key accountabilities:

• Work with the Operations Managers and 3PL’s to identify, deliver & validate improvements at network and site level, both in systems and in processes across Warehouses and Transport

• Develop a good understanding of standard operating models to ensure that all network change assumptions are grounded in operational reality

• Develop and maintain design documentation e.g. PowerPoint presentations, process maps and Change Requests

• For network new space, expansion and major change -

o Support the design and development of operating processes to enable the development of working operational budgets (aligned to business cases)

o Work cross-functionally to create the warehouse requirements and agree warehouse layouts

• Work with Network Design, Operational teams and 3PLs to explore use of new technologies that could provide business benefit

• Report on progress to plan, liaising with finance and Operations Managers/ 3PL’s to validate reported benefits

Key skills:

We can help you develop some of these skills on the job and will provide training as required but the right attitude and core skills are key.

• Good knowledge of Warehouse and Transport operations

• Strong understanding of Warehouse and Transport systems – knowledge of JDA Dispatcher WMS would be particularly beneficial

• Ability to document business processes and articulate changes required to make improvements, getting stakeholders on board to deliver the necessary change

• Strong analytical skills, logic and numerical reasoning – ability to analyse data and draw sound conclusions

• You’ll enjoy problem solving, and finding opportunities for improvement - and making it happen

• Great communication skills – you can get people on board with change

• Confident leading workshops and facilitating discussions

• Have a passion for our brand and a determination to drive our transformation journey

• Self-motivated with a flexible approach to what’s critical for delivery each week

• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills

• A good base knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

• Ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships across functions

• Ability to learn and passion for driving your own personal development
