We have a rare opportunity for a Logistics Operations Manager to join our International Supply Chain Team. This role will work in partnership and support the management of the 3rd party warehouse operations in Turkey & Croatia, importing and exporting M&S M&S Clothing & Home products to our EU partners. To deliver the service to our customers and ensure costs and safety targets are delivered and achieved within budget.

NB: To stay close to customers, our support teams in our Paddington Support Office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Manage logistics provider(s) to achieve operational critical metrics and defined customer service levels through weekly / monthly / quarterly review
  • Own site capacities and capabilities on a week to week basis ensuring any constraints are fully understood and handled accordingly with key partners
  • Act as the day-to-day operational logistics contact for internal and external partners. Make and implement operational decisions, always balancing cost and service.
  • Work in conjunction with the Global Logistics Manager to understand in-country partner constraints and identify how the UK operation can support these.
  • Work with the inbound teams and trading teams to ensure we are delivering the most efficient E2E supply chain

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

  • Warehouse Operations experience including working with 3rd Party Logistics' providers
  • Knowledge of what is required to deliver a world class operation and the relevant Warehouse Ecomm technology and how and when it’s appropriate to use
  • The ability to thrive in a pressured environment which values fast, impactful delivery. Who can develop and improve an operation over time driving operational improvements and cost savings
  • An excellent communicator, with the ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats across all levels of our business. Presenting information and proposals in a professional, structured and persuasive way, eliminating ambiguity
  • Able to identify continuous improvement opportunities in the warehouse(s) to optimise cost, service and safety. Working collaboratively with the onsite team to deliver this and ensure a continuous improvement approach is embedded
