This isn’t just any job… this is an M&S Product Assistant job!

As a Product Assistant at M&S, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of innovative, high-quality products that our customers love. Working closely with our dedicated Product Developers and cross-functional teams, you’ll help bring ideas to life across a variety of food categories.

This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about food, highly organised, and eager to learn. You’ll be involved in everything from sample management and supplier communication to tracking critical paths and supporting product launches. No two days are the same, and you’ll gain invaluable insight into how we develop and deliver the magic of M&S.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced team where your contribution really matters. If you’re ready to kick-start your career in product development and grow within one of the UK’s most iconic brands, this is the opportunity for you.

What you'll do

  • Examine the marketplace and competition to keep up to date with trends in foods, lifestyle, packaging and ingredients that influence the customer, market and potential product direction supported with regular reporting to the team
  • Understanding of M&S and competitor product categories and the products within them - covering existing M&S range and the retail competition
  • Assist in delivering the stage gate process, handling all product samples, both incoming and outgoing, product information for photographic shoots, quality benchmarking, supplier meetings, press requests, travel tests and product sampling
  • Collate product information, samples and build product displays to support all internal events, including category reviews and product forums, and all external events, including conferences and press shows.
  • Support the team in creating and coordinating presentations, accurate and timely management information, range planning documents and competitor & directional insight.

Who you are

  • You will be highly organised at handling sources of information, systems and processes
  • You will have good IT skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • You are able to use automated NPD systems
  • You have a positive, proactive and motivated outlook
