We’re going through a period of exciting growth, extending our partnerships, introducing new and exciting brands. And as a result, we’re hiring for Assistant Merchandisers across all departments within Clothing & Home. As an Assistant Merchandiser, you’ll play an important role in the future success of our business. You’ll contribute insights that help us to make reactive, long-range planning decisions. You’ll also need to be commercially aware as you’ll assist in the planning and creation of ranges, from buy to store. You will work closely with the Merchandiser/Buyer to deliver what our customers love, taking full responsibility for a range, where needed, to deliver product to the right stores at the right time maximizing profit. If you have an analytical mindset, love product, and have a keen eye for the latest trends, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key accountabilities and measures
•            Supporting the Merchandiser in agreeing the strategy and targets for creating and achieving 
               pre and in season Range sales and stock forecasts by channel, in addition to GSM Markdown 
               and availability
•             Analysis of sales, identifying winners and losers, and taking appropriate actions working in 
              collaboration with stakeholders to react to trade and maximise sales opportunity for the 
              Department
•            Assisting the Merchandiser and Buying team to formulate a detailed plan on the products to       
              be offered each quarter                    
•            Booking quantities of products to meet launch and respond to in season variables for all 
              channels and in the UK and International
•            Working with Sourcing Offices to manage critical path from buy to store delivery for each      
•            Maintaining accurate listings in Range Planner. Providing information to the Space Planning 
               & Development team to allow them to generate layout plans to stores. 
•            Maintaining awareness of competition’s product offer to provide input into price point   
               strategy and catalogue by shape of chain

To succeed in this role, you will need to have Core Merchandising skills including managing GSM, development of Department Plan, stock / commitment management, creating sales estimates, and production plans. In addition, we are looking for someone who has:

•    Knowledge of the end to end buy to store process
•    Controlling unplanned in-season costs
•    Negotiation skills (managing in season unplanned costs)
•    Able to fully utilise the relevant IT support systems, (Range Planner, SSI, SAS Reporting, JDA 
                  Merch Planning) and to be fully conversant with standard business desktop applications
•    Strong numerical, analytical and interpretive skills
•    Great Influencing skills
•    Passion for fashion
