Distribution is the art of ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time so it can be dispatched to our customers. You’ll be accountable for ensuring that your team deliver on our customer promise by completing the necessary day-to-day processes. You’ll also ensure that any operational issues are resolved so that we can exceed our customer and business expectations.

We now have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Training Lead Team Manager to join our Training Department based at our Castle Donington Distribution Centre. At 900,000 square feet and split into 3 chambers with a mix of automated and manual operations delivering around two million single items a week during peak, Castle Donington provides invaluable support to both our online and retail operations We’ve invested millions - But it’s still our people that make the real difference!
This role will manage the development of our Operations Training by taking a continuous improvement approach to learning delivery and methodology. Providing shift based, cross site Subject Matter Expert support as well as being the Learning & Development (L&D) key point of contact on shift. Management and Development of Trainers to deliver training capacity and standards.
This role will work a Rotating day shift pattern: 0530 – 1400 and 1330 – 2200, Monday to Friday and provide weekend cover 1 in every 3 weeks.
Key responsibilities, among others, will include to:
- Embed a culture of health and safety through the effective delivery of warehouse essentials safety and manual handling training. Ensuring all colleagues have accurate and current safety training records. Records to be maintained through the site training matrix
- Design and deliver appropriate training to equip Trainers/Coaches to deliver process training to the required standard
- Manage and maintain skills within the training delivery team to ensure capacity and flexibility is maintained to meet forecasted training volumes
- Develop periodic and weekly new hire training and cross training schedules based on operations requirements, agency requests and hiring plan
- Utilisation of performance and learning curve data to drive learner capability by providing appropriate learning interventions. To include investigation of learning gaps and to inform continuous improvement
- Ensure process training is delivered consistently to agreed standards across shifts, including standard delivery, ratios, assessment and sign off
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for Learning & Development and have good knowledge of L&D process development and delivery. In addition, we are looking for someone who: -
- Has people management experience and can inspire, mentor and develop others
- Is an excellent communicator and ideally has experience of group training and workshop delivery
- Has knowledge of MS office applications
