All the details

A customer's shopping journey doesn't end in store, and neither does our brand. Behind every great customer experience is a world-class supply chain and our new Lichfield Distribution Centre will play a vital role in ensuring products reach our customers when and where they need them.

This isn't a store. It's a fast-paced logistics operation where thousands of products will be received, processed and dispatched every day. As we prepare to open the site, we're looking for passionate leaders who want to be part of something new and help shape its future success.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Setting the standards for product quality checks and defining criteria of assessment
  • Leading and motivating a team to deliver to agreed SLAs and KPIs - coaching and developing to help them be the best they can be
  • Using internal and external Customer feedback data to help drive a Quality and Customer first experience across site
  • Support ICQA analysts to investigate and interrogate data to identify root cause issues across the ICQA agenda, develop action plans to resolve issues, focussing on permanent corrective action
  • Development of the Quality tactical plan & procedures, policies, documentation and document control

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • A proven track record as a Quality Manager focusing on quality of product, process compliance and governance rather than pure product quality
  • A good understanding of warehouse planning, inventory processes and quality standards
  • Experience of Warehouse Management/Control Systems and reporting
  • Experience of leading and mentoring teams and providing them with clear direction through proactive engagement
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and an eye for detail

Please note that we will operate a random Drug & Alcohol testing Policy at Lichfield.

What’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you’ve completed your probation
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services

M&S gives you the freedom to be yourself. If you are genuinely motivated by a challenge, there’s nothing to stop you or hold you back. I would pass on the same advice I was given. Seize the opportunities. Share your ideas. Try things out. If it works, great. If it doesn’t, learn from it. This is the way we move forward as people – and as a business.
