How We Hire

Everyone is welcome at M&S. No exceptions. It’s your background, abilities and differences that make you, uniquely you. And when you’re part of M&S, that individuality has the potential to make waves.

About the role

This section tells you all you need to know about the position and its responsibilities, outlining everything we hope to see in a successful candidate.

Summary
Every day we engage with our customers through inspiring, impactful marketing. From show-stopping, above-the-line campaigns to the simplest POS designs in store, every step of the customer journey is crafted by our standout teams to build the very best experience, at every touchpoint. We explore the data and learn from our successes – constantly driving our Clothing & Home category to be the market leader. And we’re just getting started. There’s no better time to join our team as we continue to elevate our style, break boundaries and take the M&S brand to the next level.

At Marks & Spencer, we’re building the future of fashion retail. Our menswear is evolving—and we need someone with the energy, insight, and creativity to help tell that story. You’ll join a passionate team that values bold ideas, smart strategy, and social-first thinking.

All the details

To stay close to customers, we expect our support teams to come into the office at least 3 three days a week. We think that learning comes from working alongside each other, and that spending time with our teams makes us more creative and connected. It also means we can solve problems as soon as they arise, build trust, and get closer to our colleagues.

We may close this role early if we have enough applications for the next stage. Please submit your application as soon as possible to make sure you don’t miss out.

What’s in it for you

Being a part of M&S is exactly that – playing your part to bring the magic of M&S to our customers every day. We’re an inclusive, dynamic, exciting, and ever evolving business built on doing the right thing and bringing exceptional quality, value, service to every customer, whenever, wherever and however they want to shop with us.

Here are some of the benefits we offer that make working for M&S just that little bit more special…

• After completing your probationary period, you’ll receive 20% colleague discount across all M&S products and many of our third-party brands for you and a member of your household.

• Competitive holiday entitlement with the potential to buy extra holiday days!

• Discretionary bonus schemes awarded based on how you achieve your personal objectives and our performance as a business.

• A generous Defined Contribution Pension Scheme and Life Assurance.

• A dedicated welcome to our teams with a tailored induction and a wide range of training programmes to develop your skills.

• Amazing perks and discounts via our M&S Choices portal to maximise your financial and personal wellbeing.

• Industry-leading parental, adoption and neonatal policies, providing support and flexibility for your family.

• Access to a fantastic range of wellbeing support for all colleagues including access to our 24/7 Virtual GP and PAM Assist to support you and your family.

• A charity volunteer day to support a charity or cause you're passionate about through a dedicated day away from work.

What you’ll do

Working closely with the Senior Social Media Manager – Menswear, you’ll help manage the newly launched dedicated M&S Menswear social media account, playing a key role in growing its audience, refining its tone of voice, and building a strong sense of community. From creating content that drives fame for our hero products to sparking viral social moments, you’ll be instrumental in building a digital space where fashion, function, and personality meet.

Your key accountabilities will include…

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Content Creation & Scheduling. Assist in planning, writing, and scheduling content across all key social channels. Help adapt campaign and editorial content for specific formats such as Reels, TikToks, and carousels. Support in producing platform-specific content that drives attention—whether showcasing new product launches or jumping on trending formats.
  • Community & Platform Support. Monitor daily activity across social platforms—engaging with followers, identifying key conversations, and flagging opportunities for reactive content. Help build a strong, engaged menswear community through timely responses and platform interaction. Keep up with emerging trends and competitor activity—bringing fresh ideas to the team that can drive reach and engagement.
  • Influencer & Campaign Assistance. Support the execution of influencer and ambassador campaigns, including coordination, tracking, and day-to-day comms. Help manage gifting, seeding, and campaign deliverables across brand and PR activations. Maintain influencer contact lists and support in campaign performance analysis.
  • Reporting & Insights. Assist with weekly and monthly performance tracking using tools like Sprinklr, Meta, and TikTok analytics. Support the creation of reports that highlight key successes, viral content, and learnings. Help identify content trends that can support the growth of the menswear account and increase hero product visibility.
  • Team & Shoot Support. Attend content shoots and support on-the-day logistics and behind-the-scenes coverage. Work cross-functionally with teams across creative, PR, ecommerce, buying, and more to ensure content aligns with wider campaign goals. Provide general support across team operations, content planning, and special projects.

Who you are

We’re looking for a creative and driven Assistant Social Media Manager to support the growth of M&S Menswear across our social platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our menswear presence online through bold, trend-led content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

Your skills and experience will include…

  • Experience working in a social media, content, or digital marketing role. This is not a direct entry role.
  • A strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms, with a passion for storytelling and community building.
  • Experience supporting social-first campaigns and producing content that performs across multiple formats.
  • A sharp eye for menswear trends and an instinct for what will resonate with a fashion-forward audience.
  • Confident working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and supporting cross-functional projects.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with great attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.

Everyone’s welcome
We are ambitious about the future of retail. We’re disrupting, innovating and leading the industry into a more

opportunities yet. Marks & Spencer strives to be an inclusive organisation, trusted and admired by our colleagues, customers and suppliers. Join us and make change happen.

We are committed to building diverse and representative teams, where everyone can bring their whole selves to work and be at their best. We support each other and work together to win together.

Merchandising is all about getting the right stock, in the right place, in the right quantities, to drive up profit. So I like getting out to stores, seeing the products on display and hearing what customers are saying.
