With your help we’ll turn standard, functional retailing into an immersive fresh market experience – with the sights, smells, taste and service that brings to life the fabulous quality and exciting products we offer.

You’ll help us to transform how we source, securing relationships with supply partners through the chain and giving growers the confidence to invest long term for us – so we can harvest a truly magical customer experience and step change the UK’s fresh food industry.

To deliver the profitability of the Cluster and Category, by working effectively with Product Development & Technology and leading the Category Trading team.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Deliver Cluster Operating plan, by driving sales and market share within your categories. Communicate to, and challenge the supply base by ensuring they are achieving their goals as set out within the Category strategy
  • Ensure personal and team adherence to financial reporting requirements
  • Deliver profit growth through driving the Value Optimisation (VO) programme and leading key costs such as promotional spending and waste
  • Work with your Trading Manager peer group to driveways of working and alignment across the Food Group
  • Translate the Food strategy including universal range, promotional strategy and central policy, into an implementation plan and framework for the Category

Key Skills;

  • Experience within the food industry ideally within Fresh Produce area.
  • Strong financial skills and knowledge of supplier economics
  • Confirmed knowledge of sourcing models and complex multiple supplier negotiation
  • Diligent, strategic and analytical, you will have a considered view based in fact/data. Your ability to identify potential process improvements will enable you to lead change and deliver continuous improvement.
