Everyone is welcome at M&S. No exceptions. It’s your background, abilities and differences that make you, uniquely you. And when you’re part of M&S, that individuality has the potential to make waves.
This section tells you all you need to know about the position and its responsibilities, outlining everything we hope to see in a successful candidate.
To stay close to our customers and colleagues, our support teams are in the office for at least three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.
Summary
As Head of Product, you will lead Product Management for the Fashion, Home & Beauty (FH&B) Design, Buy and Make domain, with accountability for delivering customer‑centred products across their full lifecycle. The role has a strong focus on transforming and modernising the technology that supports how M&S designs, sources and manufactures its FH&B ranges.
You will set a clear domain vision and product strategy aligned to business priorities, translating customer, commercial and operational needs into integrated product roadmaps. You will own prioritisation decisions and data‑driven trade‑offs to maximise value. Working closely with Engineering and Technical Programme Delivery leadership, you will share accountability for outcomes, service health and performance, ensuring products are viable, usable, secure and technically sound.
You will lead the simplification and improvement of the FH&B Design, Buy and Make product landscape, addressing legacy constraints and enabling more connected and efficient ways of working. Using market, customer and performance insight, you will take clear decisions on product investment, evolution, scaling and retirement.
As a senior leader, you will also contribute to the development of the Product Management discipline across M&S, setting clear standards for product practice and developing product leaders and teams to deliver consistently and effectively at scale.
What you'll do
Who you are
Extensive product leadership experience, owning strategy, roadmaps and delivery through launch and optimisation across complex, business‑critical products.
Proven enterprise transformation experience, leading large‑scale platform modernisation, legacy decommissioning, migrations and operating model change.
Strong data and metrics capability, defining and improving product data quality, success measures and OKRs to drive continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.
Commercially and strategically strong, with the ability to build robust business cases, demonstrate product value at scale, and make confident, evidence‑based decisions in ambiguity.
Trusted cross‑functional leader, able to align diverse stakeholders, harness emerging technologies, and build high‑performing product organisations with clear standards and accountability.
