M&S is on a journey of ongoing transformation. So we need dynamic leaders to bring our vision into our stores, create a culture of ownership for colleagues and an inspirational shopping experience for our customers. Here, you can either manage a particular team like the Salesfloor or Bakery, take on the inspiring and multidimensional role of Deputy Store Manager, or lead the whole operation as Store Manager. Each role comes with more challenges, responsibility and rewards. But what they all have in common is your talent for getting the best out of people and making sure the business hits its goals.
You might come from food, home or fashion retail – but whatever your background, what you really care about is creating the most amazing shopping experiences for your customers. You take pride in your shop. The energy, the presentation, the atmosphere. As a manager, you want them to be the best.
You’ll know how to motivate your team so they become their best selves too. You’ll enthuse your store colleagues with developments in our transformational journey and the business strategy. They will all be ready to embrace our digital tools. And you never forget that all the small things add up. So you’ll look at customer feedback as an opportunity to shape the shopping experience and make your store the most profitable.
You’ll bring your leadership experience here and inspire your best team yet, whether it’s in our our Café, Lingerie or Foodhall. You’re responsible for creating a team that performs as it peak, and will develop Customer Assistants who hit sales targets and delivers the best service in retail.
You’re essential to the Store Manager, while being an inspiration to your Team Managers and Customer Assistants. You’ll motivate people, make sure the store is flawless and keep the business strategy and P&L on track.
Why work in Retail Management?
M&S is on a really exciting journey and our Store Teams are at the heart of its success. Our Retail Managers have a winning mindset and are focused on driving the change needed to make sure that M&S is the place that customers love to browse, shop and buy from, be it in our physical stores or online. They need to be inspiring leaders who are passionate about our products, selling and developing their teams to give great customer service.
I am very passionate about leading our Store Operations and seeing what we can deliver together in 2021 and beyond. If you feel excited and would love to be part of the M&S family, we’d love to hear from you.”
Helen Milford, Stores Director, M&S.
