About the Beauty Customer Assistant role
The Beauty section at M&S balances nature and science, creating a world that is inspiring, alluring and empowering, yet always authentic. As a Beauty Customer Assistant, you'll help customers use the best of nature and science to reveal their natural glamour. Offering genuine, simple, honest and impartial advice, you'll quickly become the trusted first port of call for customers seeking the best in beauty products.
It's a chance to build on our reputation for outstanding service and take your knowledge of beauty products to the next level - all while helping customers look their very best. You'll be an expert in the world of beauty, helping customers navigate our huge product range with ease - from M&S branded products that deliver great performance, quality, value and innovation to our unique collection of the best branded products from around the world.
Put all that together, and you'll find the ideal environment for showcasing your professional knowledge of beauty therapy or makeup application, not to mention your energy and enthusiasm for delighting customers.
We’ll be looking for you to show us a real passion for and knowledge of beauty and skincare products, as well as the kind of customer service skills that will turn heads across the store.
Some previous experience as a beauty counter assistant, manager or therapist gained in a live environment (not work experience in college) will also be essential for making this role your own.
About the application process
Before anything else, you’ll need to complete an online assessment. This will involve a beauty based knowledge test and a customer service based situational judgment questionnaire. If you’re successful, you’ll take part in a face-to-face assessment centre where you'll have a further beauty based knowledge test, an interview with a Line Manager and a role play.
