Purpose of the Job:

Support in the delivery of a world class online customer experience in line with the set commercial objectives and digital strategy. Supporting the delivery of the customer experience across all channels, including web, tablet, mobile and in-store ordering devices.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the direction set by the Online Trading Manager and Business Unit
  • Complete site walks and make amends or manage with Chennai content logger issues
  • Recommend changes on site based on data analysis
  • Set up category selling hierarchy and monitor and maintain taxonomy
  • PIM day to day management
  • Deliver product presentation to required standard e.g. Product sequencing
  • Taxonomy, Multi-Facetted Navigation, Site Standards are all correct to standards set
  • Analyse customer feedback and take actions where appropriate
  • Review all promotions are correctly set up and executed
  • Work closely in partnership with Category imagery, content, copy, marketing & design, production & M&S Chennai
  • Track competitor activity and recommend changes to respond where necessary
  • Identify filter requirements for any changes to taxonomy (i.e. product hierarchy) and ensure that changes are implemented in line with standards
  • Liaise with all operations/ promotion manager roles
  • Support the cat lead and senior site manager in the implementation of BV and RR strategies
  • Support AOV growth via cross sell / up sell opportunities
  • Support the Category lead in weekly performance & customer journey probes and make recommendations
  • Review with M&S Chennai all category pages daily ensuring that pages are of the quality standard set.
  • Ensure that site navigation is optimised by working with Natural Search/ SEO, UX and Site Optimisation teams
  • Consider impact of all channels, ensuring that these are checked daily
  • Support the collation and preparation of lessons learnt ad PIR
  • Monitor and analyse key web analytics to improve the customer journey
  • Provide input on search terms relevant for the Category to Digital Marketing Manager, SEO, and paid search teams

Technical Skills

  • Ability to analyse and report information
  • Competitor and commercial awareness and ability to perform competitor analysis
  • Understanding of trading, merchandising, and promotions
  • Ability to develop relationships with appropriate areas within M&S.com and the Business Units
  • Ability to work with reactionary trading changes; subsequently prioritising workload
  • Understanding of natural search/SEO and other key marketing levers

Systems Skills

  • Knowledge of web merchandising systems
  • Competence in GMOR, Omniture and Spotfire
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills Competence in PIM system
  • Competence in Bazaar Voice
  • Competence in Foresee
  • Competence in JIRA
