Head of M&S Bank Marketing

In a time where we are looking to drive continuous value for our customers across our financial products, we are looking for Head of Marketing to both lead and run our campaign initiatives.

Job purpose

You’ll craft the marketing strategy and campaigns for initiatives that deliver value for M&S cross functionally – including our Sparks program in addition to a wide range of Financial Services and Payments, Gift Cards and M&S Energy.

You’ll be part of a leadership team that has an ambitious plan to radically transform services at M&S and has set bold targets to deliver significant customer growth and income for the business. This role will have exposure to influence an engaged partnership team at the most senior levels.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities
  • Drafts annual marketing plan to achieve performance metrics in partnership with commercial leaders for Credit, Energy and Gift Cards (B2B and Retail)
  • Sets and agrees budgets with finance partners and commercial product leaders
  • Member of M&S Bank Operating Committee and M&S Energy Exec Committee – formal partnership management governance
  • Creates compelling Loyalty communications to keep Credit Cardholders engaged – including quarterly reward mailings, bonus offers etc.
  • Ensures all campaigns and communications meet partner regulatory approval standards and internal compliance process
  • Tests new propositions and uses customer insights and business data resources to build marketing strategies
  • Creatively innovates different solutions to work towards driving the overall strategy
  • Collaborates with Bank & Energy partners to deliver Product launches and campaigns across all business assets
  • Successfully communicates with the Bank team and Central Marketing team to gain agreement and focus on joint delivery
  • Effectively works with the Retail teams to drive forward M&S Bank & Services products
Key Experience
  • Highly skilled at relationship building and influencing key collaborators at senior levels
  • Experience of building and developing a successful team. Manage and influence diverse and remote teams
  • Experience handling multi-million-pound budgets
  • Digital marketing and CRM expert
  • Experience running traditional media activity
  • Experience delivering leading measurement and attribution approaches
  • Shown ability to run a team in a matrix environment
