Background to vacancy/ What is the purpose of the job? What do you need to achieve?
As an Engineer, you will carry out reactive and preventative maintenance roles on shift related to the engineering works at Castle Donington.
Duties will also include
Carrying out of hanging garment preventative maintenance activities;
Daily shift coverage for hanging garment reactive maintenance and troubleshooting;
Support engineering improvement projects and activities, delivering to key milestones, budgets and timescales
Work with the Engineering Shift Manager to coordinate all efforts and recommend modifications on the hanging garment systems after completing shift log and incidents analysis
Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders including Duerkopp and PSB service engineers, site operational leaders, Flow Room and IT;
Work towards achieving system, engineering and personal KPIs;
Coaching and leadership of the Engineering Assistants on shift;
Fulfilling of all personal safety regulations for the hanging garment engineering, according to local laws and regulations;
Support for the Engineering Shift Manager, filling in for his duties as required.
Technical skills/business skills required
GCSE/O Level qualifications in maths and English
A recognised apprenticeship in an appropriate engineering discipline.
Recognised cross training from Mechanical to Electrical Engineering or vice versa
Minimum ONC/OND level qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline.
A logical approach to problem solving and fault-finding
Understanding of CI tools and techniques
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Being technical and analytic
Safety conscious with a head for heights
Qualified to IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition.
Good understanding of automated logistical systems
