Clothing, Home, & Beauty
We’re creating where-did-you-get-that products through our Buying, Merchandising, Design & Technology teams. Whether we’re sourcing in-demand items or making them from scratch, we all have an eye for what’s on-trend. And not only do we provide the stylish wardrobe, home and beauty essentials our customers love – we decide how to bring them to life online and in-store. Which takes all kinds of other professional areas, such as Demand Forecasting, Space Planning, Trading and Brands.. With millions of customers across the UK, your creativity will have a huge audience.
How can we increase the appeal of our products? Though you’re already a fan of M&S, that’s the question you should ask yourself every day. Our clothing needs to epitomise what our customers want, we want a wider age range crowding round our beauty counters, and we should strive to be the first place people think of when furnishing their homes.
Be ambitious and think creatively. That’s what leads to hugely popular ranges like our Goodmove activewear, puts a fresh spin on our Denim and Back to School ranges, and makes our line of Lingerie a market-leading classic.
Yes, our brand is firm favourite. But, keep in mind our customers are always changing. So you have our full permission to innovate, move with the times, and take Clothing and Home into a new age of digital at M&S. It will take you at your best – which is why the excellent training, impressive benefits package and other perks here are no less than you deserve.
Our Buyers are the best in the business. If you want to stand out, you’ll need your finger on the pulse of every global trend and react quickly to cultural shifts when shopping for third-party brands that complement our own ranges. You have to be inside the mind of the customer and find the products they want to buy.
Our Merchandisers are essential to helping our buying team put together the most profitable ranges. This goes way beyond keeping a close eye on budgets. You’ll have a commercial head for figures – analysing our margins, understanding the global omnichannel marketplace and ensuring great product availability. By maximising data, you’ll help us achieve our business goals and greater customer satisfaction.
M&S designers create products for a wide customer base. We take inspiration from international catwalks, street fashion, bloggers and influencers – but we also know what sells. So take your feel for colours, materials, textures and patterns, and weave in ideas you’re positive will have customers queuing up to buy your designs. Giving us the reputation of a retailer who’s not afraid to innovate.
Cutting-edge design isn’t just about what we make, but how we make it. You should always be thinking about the next big thing in retail – introducing totally original concepts, such as our online bra fit technology and ‘denim with a difference’. And you’ll even set your minds to solving problems we want the whole world to copy, like ensuring our products are sustainably sourced.
